Palmers Gymnasts compete to help Make a Wish Kids
This weekend our Palmers Level 6-8's and our Boys Team will compete in the Ultimate Wish Classic hosted by Ultimate Gymnastics. The competition will feature gymnasts from around the chicago area as well as Wisconsin. This is an annual competition hosted by Ultimate to raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation. Palmers Gymnastics is proud to helping out such a great cause.Monday, November 22, 2010
USAG Level 5 and 6 Girls Kick off the Season!!
Terra Garcia competed in her first and only USAG level 5 meet, qualifying into level 6. She will compete as a level 6 for the remainder of the 2010-2011 season. Way to go Terra!
This meet was unique in that the girls received direct feedback from the judges and are now working on making improvements to their routines for the next meet. Keep up the hard work ladies!

Level 7 Duo win All Around at Judges Cup

Our level 7 duo Kennedy O'Neil and Bailey Bloom won the All Around at Judges Cup, the first competition of the year. Kennedy finished 1st on beam and floor as well as 4th on vault and 5th on beam. Bailey finished first on bars beam and floor as well as 4th on vault. Congrats to both you you, what a great way to start off the season.

Palmers Gymnasts to compete in Illinois Judges Cup to kick off 2010-11 Season

The 2010- 2011 competition season is set to begin this weekend at the Illinois North Judges Cup at the Physical Education Building on the campus of UIC. Competing this weekend will be our USAG Level 5 and 6's along with our Level 7 gymnasts. These gymnasts have been working hard all off season to learn and perfect their new skills and routines. They are very excited to get this years competition season off to a great start. Good Luck to all our Level 5-7 gymnasts as well as Coach Cathy and Coach Debbie. GO PALMERS!

GIJO Optional Team 1st in State!
Ashley, Tarah and Alyssa had their highest all around score of the year! Meicie and Tae Tae did their tsuk vaults for the first time in a meet and won first and second place on that event! Casey also won the vault for her age group. Eleni had her highest score of the year on beam and Adina had a great bar routine and made her giants.

Tarah Schomer won the all-around for the 11 year olds.
Ashley Ryon won the all around for the 12 year olds, with Alyssa Yurgil and Casey Boksha taking 2nd and third. Go Palmers!
Meicie Bennett and Tae Tae went 1 and 2 in the all around for the 13 and up age group.
Eleni Galanopulos hit her floor routine and her all around score improved. Adina Crawford hit her new bar routine and scored a personal best (9.0) on that event.

The 2010 Level 8-10 State is now in the history books. Palmers fared well in the competition with everyone qualifying to their regional championships. Maggie has 3rd best floor score at Nastia Cup
The girls have finished competing in the first Nastia Super Girl Cup. The competition was tough with a lot of good girls and tight scores. Maggie was the last gymnast to compete on floor and in the meet. Her routine scored from the judges a 9.45 which would have finished 3rd but her heal stepped out of bounds before her 2nd tumbling pass giving her a 9.35. Kylie struggled a little but finished with a good floor routine and had a nice vault. Here are the results.

Nastia Cup Training goes well for Kylie and Maggie

Training went well yesterday for the Nastia Luikin cup. The girls got their new nastia cup apparel which included a training leo, competition leo, warm-up suit, pink adidas back pack, visor, and covergirl make-up. The equipment is nice and bouncy on the podium so hopefully floor will be good. Thursday, March 4, 2010
Palmers gymnasts head East this weekend

Level 10's Kylie Fischer and Maggie Lundeen head to Worcester Ma outside of Boston to compete in the 1st Nastia Liukin SuperGirl Cup. This meet will feature 36 of some of the best Level 10's/elites in the country. The competition will take place this friday and is Live on Universal Sports and Universalsports.com at 6:00pm.
Also our Level 8's and 9's are heading to Columbus Ohio for the Arnold Sports Fest. This sports fest features many different sports and body building competitions. The gymnastics competition is also unique in that there are event finals on Sunday for the top kids on each event.
Level 10 Jesus Soto is taken a weekend off from High School Competition to participate in the Arnold Classic as well.
GOOD Luck to all Palmers Gymnasts this weekend and remember to tune in to the Nastia Cup on Universal Sports friday to cheer on Kylie and Maggie.

Level 10's Kylie Fischer and Maggie Lundeeen qualified to the inaugural Nastia Liukin Super Girl Cup this weekend at the Wisconsin Dells Vacation Classic. Kylie and Maggie are 2 of 36 Level 10 Gymnasts competing in this cup which is being held at the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass. Each gymnast in the cup receives a Nastia designed leo and warm-up suit. They will also have the opportunity to meet Nastia and take a team photo. This is a wonderful opportunity for Kylie and Maggie. Good Luck and Go Palmers.

Level 7's Finish in 2nd Place as a team at the Vacation Classic


Our Level 7's started the Vacation Classic Weekend off with a 2nd Place finish as a team. The team was split into 2 groups with one group beginning on bars and the other on beam. We had a shaky start with both groups but finished very strong performance on the last events vault and bars. Annelise Frank had a great meet winning the All Around in her age group with a 36. 025 with a 1st place effort on bars (9.325) and beam (9.075). Erin Bregman won her age group on bars (9.5). Kaitlyn Murphy won her age group on floor (9.3). Jessica Cahill finished 2nd in the All Around for her age group with a 36.6. Here are the rest of the scores.

Palmers Gymnasts Head to the Dells for next meet

Palmers USAG Level 5-10 Girls and Level 4,7,10 Boys are going up to the Wisconsin Dells for the Vacation Classic held at the Chula Vista Waterpark Resort. We are looking forward to a great competition along with some fun in the water. Theres nothing like a waterpark in the middle of winter. The general schedule of our gymnasts is posted below. Level 7's Finish 3rd at the Cross Roads Classic
The Level 7's competed in the last session of the crossroads classic this weekend and finished 3rd in the Team competition. The team started the competition a little tentative on bars and beam but came back with the best floor performance as team this year. They finished on vault with a good enough team total to walk away with a trophy. Three gymnasts took home first place honors on individual events. Zoe Marritt won vault with a 9.25, Veronika Srey won bars with a 9.2 and Kaitlyn Murphy won beam with 9.175. Other top 3 finishes include Isabella Shaw finished 3rd on floor with a 9.25, Jessica Cahill finished 2nd on floor with a 9.3, Kaitlyn Murphy finished 2nd on floor with 9.425, and Veronika Srey finished 3rd All Around with a 35.725.
